Newcomer of the Tate Modern in London and designed to travel, then to the National Gallery of art in Washington, the exhibition “Joan Miró: the ladder of evasion” underlines the political commitment of the artist throughout his life. Miró catalanidad links with their homeland are unquestionable, and this is demonstrated by the works which can be seen in the exhibition, ranging from the landscapes of Mont-roig, as the Manor (1921-1922), which belonged to Ernest Hemingway, friend of Miró; the masterful sequence head of Catalan peasant (1924-1925), to the sculptural series of Their Majesties (1974), made from from tools of the rural world. more…
